  SASS Cowboy Action Match will consist of 5 or 6 stages of fire.  All SASS rules, scoring, and safety protocols will be in effect.  

   

  Gates open at 8:00am, registration begins at 8:00am, mandatory Cowboy Safety meeting on the range at 9:00am.  First-time cowboy shooters must pre-register with match officials at least one week before the date of any match.  

   

  Matches will be completed by 3:00pm.  

  Shooters must have the necessary guns for Cowboy Action Shooting: i.e., Two (2) Single Action revolvers, a lever action rifle chambered in a center-fire pistol cartridge, and a SASS-compliant Shotgun.  The only exceptions will be for any pre-registered new shooters or those under 18, who have been assigned a Cowboy Mentor by the match officials.

  Welcome to the 2024 Mason Dixon Precision Rifle Series (MDPRS)

  
  The 2024 MDPRS will consist of eleven matches and a finale. Five matches will be
  held at the New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club (NHRPC) in Gap PA, four matches at the Mayberry Game Protective Association (MGPA) in Westminster MD and three matches at the Mifflin County Sportsmen’s Association in Lewistown, PA.  Qualifying matches will be open to 45-100 competitors with a match fee of $65 per match.   Recommended equipment:
  Rifle capable of 1 MOA or better, with a repeatable zero
  Scope that you can easily dial or hold for elevation
  100 rounds of quality ammo, 308 or under with a max velocity of 3150 fps
  Confirmed dope at longer ranges (preferably up to 700 yards)
  Bipod, tripod, shooting bags, back pack, sling, food/snacks, water ….  Bring what you have

  2024 IWI Gas Gun Series (RECCE/DMR/SNIPER)

  This Series is designed for the AR or other Semi-Auto rifles. 

   

  RECCE Division (Light Reconnaissance Rifle): 
  Allowed: any semi-automatic rifle chambered in caliber .223/5.56 or .308/7.62x51. A single (1) supporting shooting item not attached to the rifle. This item cannot be a Bipod or Tripod. Max barrel length of 18”. Max optic is 10 power. Max muzzle velocity of 3100 fps and a max projectile weight of 178 grains. No restrictions on support gear or optics.

    

  DMR Division (Designated Marksman Rifle):
  Allowed: any semi-automatic rifle chambered in caliber .223/5.56 or .308/7.62x51. Max muzzle velocity of 3100 fps and a max projectile weight of 178 grains. No restrictions on support gear or optics.

   

  Sniper Class:

  Sniper rifles may be any caliber other than .223/5.56 or .308/7.62x51 or bolt guns of any caliber. Max muzzle velocity of 3100 fps and a max projectile weight of 178 grains. No restrictions on support gear or optics.

   

  The courses of fire range from 100 to 700 yards.  The stages may have restricted round counts and time limits. Stages may require pistols – this will be promoted prior to the match.  The stages require safe movement, non-standard firing positions, moving targets and varying distances.

   

  Targets are typically steel - moving and reactive. 

   

  This is a sponsored series, and prizes may be awarded at matches to shooters in each class, with some prizes awarded by raffle to attending shooters.

  Registration and First Shot Times:

  Match Conditions:

  Match is open to the public, club membership is not required. Open to all shooters including F-Class. These are not NRA-sanctioned matches. There are no prizes or awards.

  Course of Fire:

  Target 1 at 100 yards3 minute preparation period followed by 20 shots for record with unlimited sighters in a time of 20 minutes.Target 2, 3, and 4 Same conditions as target 1.

  
  

  Targets:

  At 100 yards, competitors will fire theNRA A25 from the sling or NRA A33 for F- Class.

  
  

  Rifles:

  Authorized rifles will be .22 long rifle rimfire rifles.All rifles must be single loaded and fired single shot. Any sights may be used.

  
  

  Safety:

  Ear protection is required. Eye protection is urged.

  Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) is required.

  ECI’s shall be inserted into the chamber before the rifle is brought to the firing line.

  ECI’s may be removed at the start of the three minute preparation period.

  ECI’s shall be reinserted upon completion of firing or the call for cease fire.

  There will be no handling of rifles on the firing line while any personnel are down range.

  
  

  Scoring:

  Attention all shooters!  The Pistol League is looking for new and past members interested in competitive pistol shooting.  League shoots are at the New Holland Rifle and Pistol Club on Monday nights, beginning at 5:00 PM. and ending at 6:30 P.M. Setup between 4:45-5:00 The 25/50/100 NHRPC Pistol Range is reserved for the League.

  ELIGIBILITY:

  NRA membership is not required to compete in NRA sanctioned matches, although it is strongly encouraged.

  At Statistical Office commencing at 7:30 a.m.

  Competitors are required to check in by 8:30 a.m. the day of the match.

  Entries end at 8:30 a.m. the day of the match and are restricted to the first 60 paid competitors.

   

  GENERAL:

  Competitors will be required to pull targets and serve as score keepers. The club will not provide pullers. The Match Director is authorized to reduce the match in shots fired or distance due to range conditions. Refunds will not be provided once the match has commenced.

                                                                               

  ALL COMPETITORS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A “WAIVER, RELEASE, AND INDEMNIFICATION

  AGREEMENT” FORM. This form is NHRPC Adult Minor Waiver

  and can be completed prior to attending the match. Shooters who have completed this waiver previously in 2021 do not have to re-submit.

Participants may be required to sign a Liability Agreement if one is not currently on file at the range. Any sight system may be used. Muzzle brakes are not permitted; flash hiders are allowed. Equipment Needed: Rifle, ammo (at least 90 rounds), clips or magazines, shooting mat or blanket, spotting scope or binoculars, pen, ear & eye protection, sling, adjustment tools, winter jacket or shooting coat. Course of Fire: CMP Cup Match, Short Range Highpower Rifle Standard Course, 80 shots for record (88 including sighting shots), fired at 100 yards. Line calls will be given for each stage of fire. Competitors will have a 3 minute preparation period prior to each stage: 2 sighting shots in followed by 20 record shots slow fire standing in 22 minutes. 2 sighting shots in 2 minutes, followed by two 10 shot strings of sitting rapid fire each with a magazine change in 60 seconds by CMP rules. 2 sighting shots in 2 minutes, followed by two 10 shot strings of prone rapid fire each with a magazine change in 70 seconds by CMP rules. 2 sighting shots followed by 20 record shots slow fire prone in 22 minutes. Targets: All targets will be CMP approved targets for each stage of fire. Ammunition: Competitor must bring their own safe ammunition, such as factory, reloads, or surplus. No tracer, armor piercing, or incendiary ammunition is permitted. Classification: CMP classifications, or if you are new we will help you get a CMP classification. Challenges: There are no challenges.
